JIRACOR, is an SBA 8(a), Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) with a rich history of providing exceptional Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Program Management, and Specialty Engineering to improve operational availability (Ao) and reducing operating costs throughout the acquisition life cycle.

Tell us about a business success you have had.
As a Small Business, we are proud in achieving ISO 9001:2016 and AS9100:2016 Rev D quality certifications, in which, reinforces our customers and employees that JIRACOR is committed in providing the best possible service and value to meet current and future business needs.

In similar fashion, our Accounting System was audited by the Defense Contractors Audit Agency (DCAA) in 2015 and deemed approved and acceptable with the terms and conditions of DFARS 252.242-7006, “Accounting System Administration”.

In 2017 JIRACOR graduated from the UCF Business Incubator and at the same time moved to a 4,000 square foot facility to serve our customers at a much larger scale. In July 2018, JIRACR was accepted in the SBA 8(A) program.

Explain a pitfall you have experienced and lessons learned as a result?
As a new small business in 2011 we learned quickly that we need a good Marketing and Business Plan, to place priorities in what markets we were going to focus on. In 2012 we got accepted into the UCF Business Incubator, and Ms. Carol Ann Dykes, UCF Research Park Incubator Site Manager, pointed us in the right direction to get our business documentation started.

Starting our business in the UCF Incubator gave us a great advantage because, we had valuable resources available at our finger tips, and presence in the location we wanted to target, the Central Florida Research Park.

What are the next steps for your business and how can the Florida 8(a) Alliance and/or other members help?

Our next steps are to position JIRACOR and the “go-to company” for Engineering, Manufacturing, and Logistics. By being members of the Florida 8(a) Alliance, it has given us access to webinars with key decision makers in the Federal Government and training opportunities to better market our business.
