Orlando International Airport (MCO) Adopts New Datanautix Machine Learning Platform to Process Thousands of Guest Experience Comments Immediately

ORLANDO, Fla. — To improve the guest experience, the Orlando International Airport (MCO) will begin using Datanautix software to quickly understand and analyze guest feedback provided via their web site, through social media channels and shared by partner airlines. These open-ended comments provide an opportunity to understand what matters to passengers travelling through the airport and then take steps to deliver a better guest experience. Using machine learning and artificial intelligence, the Datanautix VOCL platform quickly uncovers hidden patterns in large sets of open text comments and provides actionable insights.

Sanjay Patel, chief executive officer, and his engineers provided MCO with Datanautix’ new product when they were asked for a system that looks at their passenger experience comments and analyzes them quickly so the right action can be taken.  “The alternative to using the Datanautix VOCL platform is humans sitting down reading thousands of comments, and for most organizations that’s not a cost-effective option,” said Sanjay. “We are excited about helping MCO improve the overall Orlando Experience for visitors from all over the world.”

Datanautix is a client company of the UCF Business Incubator in Winter Springs and has been developing this technology for a couple of years. “UCF and the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority hosted a joint program on ‘How To Do Business with GOAA’ that Sanjay attended late last year. It is exciting to see how the small business outreach program from GOAA has turned into a significant win for one of our incubator companies,” said Rafael Caamano, Site Manager of the UCF Business Incubator in Winter Springs. “This shows the community support and commitment of GOAA in helping establish entrepreneurs locally.”

Datanautix provides MCO a set of reports that includes a “Monday Morning Report” that takes the guest feedback and provides a rolling 8 week view of the most relevant topics and concerns. The reports also include a monthly operational report and a quarterly strategic report. These are all designed to help MCO quickly determine what actions to take to improve “the Orlando  experience” a trademarked goal for aesthetics and excellent customer service. .

“One of the biggest benefits of using technology to evaluate open-ended comments is that it quickly and objectively uncovers trends in guest experiences and allows us to take appropriate actions. Having last week’s customer comments analyzed and a report ready for me to review on Monday morning so that we can solve guest experience problems promptly is invaluable,” said Brian Engle Director of Customer Service at MCO. “We have a stated objective to enhance the travel experience by leveraging technology and innovation at our airport. Using advanced text analytics allows us to deliver an experience that resonates with the overall experience Orlando delivers as the nation’s most visited destination.”
