It should be no secret that the UCF Business Incubation Program is filled with companies that are leading innovation in all types of fields.
Recently, one of our graduate companies, Hesperos, was featured in UCF Today for working on a landmark study that could change the way Alzheimer’s is diagnosed and treated.
“According to the article, the study was sponsored by the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute on Aging and was led by UCF Nanoscience Technology Center Professor James Hickman and Research Professor Xiufang “Nadine” Guo. In collaboration with researchers at healthcare tech company Hesperos, the team used lab-grown, human-cell systems designed to model how the body functions to examined how genetic mutations associated with familial Alzheimer’s affects movement.”
In addition to showing the power of the Incubator for businesses, the story is also a testament on how incubator businesses work with researchers and students at the University of Central Florida.
