Longwood, Fla., (March 13, 2026) – Matt Rose, Chief Experience Officer and Co-founder of Tech Rage IT, appeared on FOX 35 Orlando to discuss a reported cyberattack against global medical device manufacturer Stryker that has been linked to a pro-Iranian hacking group.
During the segment with FOX 35’s Garrett Wymer, Rose explained that early reports indicate the attack targeted Stryker’s corporate network rather than the company’s medical devices used in hospitals around the world.
“The positive takeaway so far is that it appears the medical devices themselves were not affected,” said Rose. “From what we know right now, the attack targeted the corporate network, which is still serious but very different from an attack that impacts patient care systems.”
According to public reports, the attackers may have exfiltrated significant amounts of data and wiped employee devices as part of the intrusion. Unlike many modern cyberattacks, the incident does not appear to involve ransomware demands. Instead, the attackers may have focused on disruption and destruction of data.
Rose noted that this type of activity is becoming more common as geopolitical conflicts increasingly include cyber operations.
“Cyber attacks have become part of the modern conflict landscape,” said Rose during the interview. “Twenty years ago businesses did not think about global conflicts affecting them digitally. Today, organizations of all sizes can be impacted because the digital battlefield reaches everywhere.”
Rose emphasized that while nation-state activity often targets large organizations, the lessons apply to businesses everywhere.
“Organizations need to stay vigilant,” said Rose. “You have to monitor your systems, address vulnerabilities quickly, and make sure you have a recovery plan in place. Defenders have to be right one hundred percent of the time. Attackers only need to be right once.”
The appearance continues Tech Rage IT’s ongoing efforts to educate businesses and the public about emerging cybersecurity risks and the importance of proactive IT security practices.
