DioQuest to focus on Research and Development in Carbon Conversion
ORLANDO, Fla. (October 12, 2022) – Over the last decade, Semplastics and its subsidiary companies have pioneered new technology that has led to waste materials being re-used for building materials, recycled batteries and more.
Now, Semplastics is doing it again with the formation of DioQuest. DioQuest will focus on research and development in carbon conversion. The revolutionary process takes point source CO2 emissions and CO2 from direct air capture and permanently captures and reuses the waste.
Why waste when you can reuse? In the race for a cleaner future, DioQuest’s newly invented patent-pending process does just that. By sequestering the gaseous CO2, DioQuest is able to then embed the waste into their products which are high in performance and value. Sustainable, carbon-negative materials produced include facades, panels and tiles.

Currently, prototype panels made from DioQuest have up to 30% by mass sequestered CO2. These CO2 negative materials provide a green alternative to current market offerings, while also exceeding the performance.
DioQuest is a member of the Semplastics portfolio of companies that include X-MAT and X-BATT. These companies have secured over $14 Million in grants and contracts for the research and development of their innovative technologies, including uses for waste streams such as CO2, recycled graphite, coal fines, fly ash and produced waters. These are used in creating building materials and performative products such as lithium-ion batteries.
DioQuest is part of the UCF Incubation Program, which helps small businesses grow and develop. Through the partnership DioQuest has access to equipment allowing the company to expand carbon conversion research and development.
