RSS Logistics Passes DCAA Audit, now positioned to win major Defense Contracts

Orlando, Fla. — RSS Logistics, a Woman Owned Small Business that provides integrated logistics support, systems engineering, avionics repair, and manufacturing services recently passed a Defense Contractors Audit Agency (DCAA) audit.

This is an important milestone for RSS Logistics, having a DCAA compliant accounting system can be a crucial prerequisite to winning certain defense contracts. In many cases you cannot even respond to a proposal if your system is not compliant, stated Jeannette Coronado, RSS Logistics, president and chief executive officer.

As we grew and won our first SeaPort-e prime contract, the Navy’s electronic platform, for acquiring support services in areas including engineering, logistics, financial management, and program management we saw an increasing need to be DCAA compliant, Coronado said.

To assist with the DCAA audit preparation and representation, RSS Logistics retained the CPA firm of Anglin, Reichmann, Snellgrove & Armstrong, PC (ARSA), a North Alabama CPA firm, which has accountants and business consultants offering a full range of government accounting and advisory services.

ARSA has extensive expertise in government contracting and was able assist RSS Logistics staff to meet government contract accounting standards and provide the necessary audit documentation promptly to ensure a quick response from DCAA. “ARSA was very helpful in guiding and representing us through the audit process. We retain their continuing services as trusted advisors to help us with strategic decisions to grow our company,” added Coronado.

RSS Logistics is a client company of the UCF Business Incubation Program at Central Florida Research Park in east Orange County.
