Aurora InfoTech Takes Aim at Protecting the Government

Orlando, Fla. (August 21, 2020) — Aurora InfoTech, an Orlando-based Cybersecurity & IT company, announced today it has received its certification as a Minority & Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) from the state of Florida’s Office of Supplier Diversity.

With this designation, the company is now eligible to qualify for contracting as an M/WBE company for state contracts and a wide range of government entities, such as Orange County Government, Orlando International Airport and many more throughout the state.

The company can serve as either a prime contractor or as a sub-contractor for a larger contract.

“This is a great first step,” said Aluska Richardson, president of Aurora InfoTech. “It’s an honor and I want to thank everyone who assisted in the process. Now, the real work starts.”

While cybersecurity problems continue to grow with the growing number of cyberattacks around the world, regulatory compliance standards and enforcement actions are also rising. Cybercrime costs trillions of dollars worldwide each year.

The amount of work required to protect organizations appropriately continues to grow. The said increase ensures that growing numbers of organizations are searching for companies such as Aurora InfoTech to provide specialized services in these fields.

The Office of Supplier Diversity (OSD), a specialized team within the Division of State Purchasing, helps improve business opportunities for Florida-based woman-, veteran- and minority-owned small businesses.

Aurora InfoTech is a Cybersecurity Advisory Company founded in May 2016. We primarily focus on helping local Orlando business owners protect their assets against the next wave of cyber threats. Aurora InfoTech’s team consists of highly trained, certified cybersecurity & enforcement professionals with years of network design, deployment, enforcement & security experience, including many industry certifications and qualifications.

Richardson added, “We look forward to working with the hard-working men and women in our public sector. This marks a new chapter for Aurora InfoTech.”

We launched our first technology firm for about twenty 25 years ago. We focused on client/server architectures and were among the first to offer remote IT support to small to medium-sized businesses in the Dutch / French Caribbean. Realizing that the lack of reliable internet connectivity was a significant obstacle to our remote IT services’ success, we expanded our activity by building and operating a full telecommunications network and a secure data center to provide managed broadband and IT services.

The secured networks that we built and established back then still serve today as the backbone network for many mission-critical communications services, such as those needed by government, the banking sector, day traders, aircraft radar control systems, cellular communication, and smart city concepts such as public WiFi and country-wide surveillance systems, to name but a few.

Combined with our business acumen, our vast understanding of technology-enabled us to build a customer-centered organization that set the bar for operating mission-critical networks highly dependent on reliability, performance, and security. As a result, over ten years, we gained 65 percent market share for telecommunications & development services, which eventually led to a national telecommunication provider purchasing our business in 2008. Today, this operation is still one of the most successful technology service providers; we continue to serve both their management and technical teams as strategic advisors. They remain one of the most valued and satisfied customers.

To our customers at Aurora InfoTech, the expertise we have acquired over 25 + years operating in the Cybersecurity, IT, and Telecom arenas with some of the most advanced innovations and under some of the strictest health requirements comes to the advantage. Today we concentrate on offering a multitude of products and services related to Cybersecurity, tailored IT solutions, and Telecom to help companies and enterprises get the most out of their technology.
