Maitland, Fla. – August 24, 2026 – Aurora InfoTech, a women-owned Cybersecurity and IT consulting firm based in Maitland, FL, proudly participated as a featured speaker at the Empowered Girls Inc. Career Networking Event, “Unlocked: Your Future Starts Now,” held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Dr. James R. Smith Neighborhood Center in Orlando, Florida.
The event, hosted by Empowered Girls Inc. in partnership with the City of Orlando, brought together middle school, high school, and college-age students for a day of career exploration, professional networking, and empowerment. With more than 15 industry professionals and businesses in attendance, the event provided students with the opportunity to explore career pathways, connect with professionals, and gain real-world insight across a range of fields.
Aurora InfoTech was represented by Roy Richardson, Co-Founder and Chief Information Security Officer, and Shaddik Flores, a Cybersecurity expert, who together led an engaging workshop giving attendees valuable insight into Cybersecurity careers, Artificial Intelligence, and growing opportunities in the technology industry.
“The event went really well. Everyone seemed to really love the information that we gave them. They were very happy to have learned a little further about AI and the different careers within Cybersecurity. The event overall was very beautiful and very well put together, and we are very appreciative of everyone’s hard work that made this experience possible,” said Roy Richardson and Shaddik Flores of Aurora InfoTech.
A highlight of the event was a connection made with a young attendee actively pursuing a career in Cybersecurity and eager to explore what the field has to offer. True to the company’s mission, Aurora InfoTech’s goal is for every participant to walk away with knowledge and awareness they can carry into their everyday lives, and the inspiration to see what is possible for their future.
Felicia Lewis, Founder and Executive Director of Empowered Girls Inc., described Aurora InfoTech’s participation as “an incredible example of what meaningful community partnership looks like.” Lewis noted that Roy and Shaddik were amazing facilitators and workshop presenters who brought energy, expertise, and real-world knowledge into the room, providing youth with valuable education surrounding online safety, Cybersecurity awareness, and the importance of understanding how to protect themselves in today’s digital world. “Aurora InfoTech’s involvement represented education, community engagement, mentorship, and partnership in action.
