Capacitech Energy Expands Space at Research Park Incubator

Energy tech company to build a demonstration space, along with manufacturing space

Orlando, Fla. (May 12, 2026) – With interest in its technology continuing to grow, Capacitech Energy has expanded its space at the UCF Business Incubator in Research Park.

Adding nearly 1,000 square feet of space, the company is planning on building out a demonstration space so potential users can see Capacitech’s supercapacitor systems firsthand. In addition, the company is also using the space to scale its manufacturing capability.

“The surge in AI compute has fundamentally changed the power demand profile of data centers and the grid, creating a critical need for rapid-response power resilience.’ says Joe Sleppy, CEO and founder, Capacitech Energy. “This new space allows us to scale production of space-saving C-Link systems to meet the growing need and also to demonstrate its capability to address millisecond-scale power transients, mitigating risk for customers.”

Capacitech delivers advanced, fully integrated supercapacitor systems engineered for high-power, rapid-response applications such as artificial intelligence data centers. Backed by national labs and grid operators, the company has solved the real challenge of making supercapacitor technology practical to deploy and scale.

At the heart of Capacitech’s solutions is the C-Link supercapacitor module, a fully integrated supercapacitor energy storage system complete with plug-and-play connectors, cooling, power management, and an installation-ready enclosure.

Unlike traditional cabinet-based systems, the modular design mounts anywhere, including on walls, fences, and inside cable trays to add power resilience without large cabinets, concrete pads, or permit heavy construction.

The C-Link is designed for microgrids, utilities managing distributed energy resources and large ramping loads and data centers managing AI workload surges.

Over the past year, Capacitech Energy has experienced several wins, including:

  • Forbes 30 Under 30 List for Energy and Green Tech
  • A listing on Nvidia’s Inception Capital Connect
  • An invitation to present to EPRI’s Pitch Day
  • Installation and testing of 480Vac-coupled C-Link Supercapacitor System for a utility microgrid with Sandia National Laboratories
  • Growing sales pipeline led by a Fortune 50 corporation

“Being a part of the Incubation Program allows businesses the opportunity to expand their space quickly and efficiently as their markets grow, but also provides unique space for manufacturing and research,” says Rafael Caamano, interim director, Innovation Districts & Incubation Program. “Capacitech’s success is a showcase of what can happen when a new company takes advantage of all the resources found at the incubator, including public relations, mentoring, access to the university’s students and leasing.”
