SmartTracker Achieves ONC Health IT Certification, Advancing Interoperability, Security and Health Equity Nationwide

Milestone reinforces SmartTracker’s leadership in public health innovation and digital health infrastructure

Orlando, Fla. [April 2, 2026] — SmartTracker, a leading no-code, modular health & human services (HHS) technology EHR platform, today announced that it has successfully achieved the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) Health IT Certification.

This certification validates that SmartTracker meets rigorous federal standards for interoperability, security, data access, clinical quality measurement, and accessibility-centered design, positioning the platform as a trusted, compliant solution for government agencies, community health organizations, and safety-net providers nationwide.

“ONC Certification is more than a compliance milestone—it’s a promise to the communities we serve,” said Jose Dueñas, founder & CEO, SmartTracker. “This achievement confirms that SmartTracker meets the highest federal standards for secure data exchange, patient access, and quality reporting—while still delivering the speed, flexibility, and affordability that government agencies desperately need.”

SmartTracker is currently deployed across public health departments, behavioral health organizations, and community-based agencies supporting underserved populations nationwide.

With the new certifications, SmartTracker is positioned to provide the following services for its clients:

  • Interoperability & Transitions of Care – Secure exchange of patient summaries between care settings
  • Electronic Health Information (EHI) Export – Secure single-patient and bulk data export
  • Clinical Quality Measures (CQMs) – Record, import, calculate, and report CQMs
  • Security & Privacy Controls – Multi-factor authentication, encryption, audit logging, emergency access
  • Public Health Reporting – Immunizations, syndromic surveillance, and electronic case reporting
  • Accessibility-Centered Design & Quality Management System – Inclusive, ADA-aligned development standards
  • Direct Secure Messaging & C-CDA Creation – Standards-based clinical data exchange

These capabilities enable SmartTracker to fully support programs including immunizations, disease surveillance, maternal and child health, behavioral health, HIV/PrEP, TB, substance use, and emergency preparedness.

SmartTraker is one of a very small number of Hispanic-led CEO, minority-owned ONC-certified EHR platforms in the United States.

“Our mission is deeply personal,” Dueñas added, “We built SmartTracker to modernize the public health safety net and empower agencies with real-time data to save lives. This certification accelerates that mission nationwide.”

The company is a client of the UCF Business Incubation Program in Lake County/Eustis.

“SmartTracker represents exactly the type of high-impact innovation we aim to support,” said Brian Bedrick, site manager, Lake County/Eustis, UCF Business Incubation Program. “Their successful ONC certification demonstrates both technical excellence and mission-driven leadership in public health technology.”
