Orlando, Fla. (January 3, 2025) – A key step for many companies is showcasing how their systems and operations utilize the highest level of professionalism and efficiency as possible through various certifications.

In December, IS4TS, a supply-chain management company based in the Orlando Incubator on Colonial Drive, completed two such certifications, ISO9001 and AS9120B.

“This process was a tremendous effort, but by going through the process and looking at our entire operations, we know this will help us become a much better company in the long run,” says Hamid Elkheir, General Manager, IS4TS. “These achievements are a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality, reliability, and excellence in the aviation industry and affirm our dedication to maintaining the highest international standards in quality management systems and aerospace distribution.”

The ISO9001 certification is utilized by all types of companies to showcase their proficiency in quality management systems. According to the International Organization for Standardization, which developed the certification, it “helps organizations of all sizes and sectors to improve their performance, meet customer expectations and demonstrate their commitment to quality. Its requirements define how to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve a quality management system.”

The AS9120B certification was developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group and includes standards specifically designed for organizations that distribute aerospace components. It is based on ISO 9001:2015 but includes additional requirements tailored to the aerospace industry, particularly for distributors.

IS4TS was formed in 2016 utilizing decades of experience in government contracting, including providing services to companies such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Airbus. The company is a supplier of military and commercial spare parts, tools and equipment for aviation/aerospace companies, oil and gas companies and more.

In addition to the ISO9001 and the AS9120B certifications, the company also finalized its review of FAA Advisory Circular 00-56B, a voluntary review from the Federal Aviation Administration ensuring the company meets the rigorous regulatory standards set by the Federal Aviation Administration for aviation parts companies.

“One of the best ways to showcase to potential clients and prime contractors the quality of a company is by working through certifications on all aspects of a business,”

says Carol Ann Logue, director of programs & operations, Innovation Districts & Incubation Program, University of Central Florida. “We’re very proud of Hamid and his team for achieving these certifications as these are incredibly difficult to achieve.”
